New Media, trinidad+tobago film festival
Curatorial / programming of experimental film works for the trinidad+tobago film festival
Since its inception in 2006, the trinidad+tobago film festival has shown experimental film works. In 2011, the festival made the decision to break these works out into its New Media programme – a collection of artists’ works that explore a range of themes and issues, while pushing and blurring the boundaries between film and art. For five years I worked in a curatorial capacity for New Media, reviewing and selecting works for exhibition in various settings. In 2013 we opened New Media with a stunning image+sound performance from Olivia McGilchrist, and in 2014 we had the honour of hosting the world premiere of Good Stock on the Dimension Floor, by the Yams Collective. From 2011 to 2015, New Media was held in collaboration with ARC Magazine, and given technical support by North Eleven.
