I worked with architect + architectural photographer Brian Lewis as graphic designer on Manikin – a book on his father’s practice, on which he was editor. Brian and I established a good working relationship based on that project, so I was happy and honoured when he asked me to work on his new book of contemporary Caribbean architectural photography. Brian has been photographing throughout the region and has, literally, thousands upon thousands of images, many of which can be viewed on his site, LUMIS Photography. The design of the book was a real challenge – editing down the number of images in order to create a concise visual story for each of the 50 buildings was serious work, but Brian and I made it through! The book sold out a month after its publication, in part to great publicity including its inclusion on the 2015 Designer Island Loves List. I also produced a number of supporting elements for the book and its launch/exhibition, including a custom shopping bag, a limited-edition postcard set, wall vinyl, and large-format and small book posters.
